Laura and Floyd's Trip to Europe
London

We were in London for 5 days. It was overwhelming at first trying to get around. London is a very crowded city. We were also hindered by the fact that the Tube was shut down in spots due to the terrorist attacks. The funniest thing was when you were getting off the Tube the loud speaker kept on repeating MIND THE GAP. It was fun listening to the British accents.

The food was awful and expensive, so although I liked London I was happy to leave because I wanted something cold to drink and some decent tasting food.

Running in London wasn't too bad. When we got a hotel in the city we were about a 10 min run from Hyde, St James, and Green park.

I'm not sure what my favorite part was but I liked the two tours we went on - Jack the Ripper and Secrets of Westminster Abbey and I also like the Tower of London.

Tower of London
The great medieval castle in London. This is where Henry VIII cut off his wives' heads and two young princes mysteriously disappeared. We also saw a reenactment of the conspiracy and capture of Guy Fawkes and his companions who were plotting to blow up Parliment.
Climbing the bloody tower.
Tower Bridge?

London Eye
If you watched the Amazing Race you saw the players go up in the London Eye to look for a clue. Its like a big ferris wheel--but its enclosed, its way taller, and it is a half hour ride. If you look closely you can see Big Ben in the background.
London Monuments
These were all taken while on a boat tour on the river Thames. Cassiopia's Needle. Its 3000 years old and I think they nicked it from Egypt.
A library. I forget which one.
St Paul's Cathedral. We didn't have enough time to actually go here, but we did see lots of churches so its probably ok.
Houses of Parliment and Big Ben
Big Ben. Apparently Floyd saw Big Ben a lot. Every time he saw a big clock, whether we were in London, Paris, Venice or Rome, he said, "Hey look its Big Ben"!
